Gay-Straight
Alliance/LGBTQ Group Resource Center
Each of our schools have different policies
and may, or may not, have a Gay-Straight Alliance or other
LGBTQ student organization on campus. A Gay-Straight Alliance
is a youth led organization that:
- advocates a safe environment in schools
for LGBTQ students;
- educates others about homophobia and oppression
of others;
- educates school and community about homophobia,
gender identity and sexual orientation issues; and,
- fights discrimination, harassment and
violence in schools.
Your school may not have a GSA, but may have an
organization that supports LGBTQ youth in a more social way.
Kaleidoscope is here to support you and your organization, no
matter which format your school has, in getting organized, getting
active, and staying active.
Start
a GSA! To the right you will find a number of
resources from which you can draw valuable information. You
