Survivorship Support Network

In an effort to address key issues related to cancer survivorship, Kaleidoscope has partnered with a broad network of organizations to help survivors and their loved ones navigate through this difficult journey. These organizations engage in all manners of advocacy from research to outreach, lobbying to education, and medical care to moral support. American Society of Clinical Oncology

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is the world’s leading professional organization representing physicians who care for people with cancer. With more than 30,000 members, ASCO is committed to improving cancer care and awareness through scientific meetings, educational programs, peer-reviewed journals, and patient information resources. ASCO’s patient website Cancer.Net was developed and approved by the member doctors of ASCO, making Cancer.Net an up-to-date and trusted resource for cancer information on the Internet. Cancer.Net is supported by the Conquer Cancer Foundation, which is working to creating a world free from the fear of cancer by funding breakthrough research and sharing cutting-edge knowledge. 

  

 

Cancer Support Community 

The Cancer Support Community is an international non-profit dedicated to providing support, education and hope to people affected by cancer.  Likely the largest employer of psychosocial oncology mental health professionals in the United States, CSC offers a menu of personalized services and education for all people affectedby cancer.  Its global network brings the highest quality cancer

support to the millions of people touched by cancer.  These support services are available through a network of professionally-led community-based centers, hospitals, community oncology practices and online, so that no one has to face cancer alone.

In July 2009, The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club Worldwide joined forces to become the Cancer Support Community.  By helping to complete the cancer care plan, CSC optimizes patient care by providing essential, but often overlooked, services including support groups, counseling, education and healthy lifestyle programs. Today, CSC provides the highest quality emotional and social support through a network of more than 50 local affiliates, 100 satellite locations and online. Fight Colorectal Cancer

 Colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the United States, and Fight Colorectal Cancer demands a cure. Fight Colorectal Cancer is the leading colorectal cancer advocacy organization in Washington, DC, empowering survivors to raise their voices, training advocates around the country, and educating lawmakers and pushing them for better policies. We offer support for patients, family members, and caregivers, and we serve as a resource for colorectal cancer advocates, policymakers, medical professionals, and healthcare providers. Additionally, we do everything we can to increase and improve research— at all stages of development and for all stages of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship

 The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) defines all people touched by cancer as survivors, from the moment of diagnosis and through the balance of life. NCCS understands the difficulties associated with a cancer diagnosis and has created award-winning programs and resources to help empower all people touched by cancer to take charge of their care by being informed, asking questions and speaking up. Through these critically important programs, NCCS is educating cancer survivors to advocate for their needs, and the needs of others, to ensure the voice of survivorship remains strong in the fight for how the nation researches, regulates, finances, and delivers quality cancer care.

Oncology Nursing Society

 The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is a professional organization of more than 36,000 registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. ONS is committed to excellence in oncology nursing and to leading the transformation of cancer care by initiating and actively supporting educational, legislative, and public awareness efforts to improve the care of people with cancer. On The Line

ON THE LINE is the largest prostate cancer awareness initiative ever, set to run for 24 months with the goal of increasing the public dialogue about prostate cancer and promoting the resources to help survivors.  ON THE LINE harnesses the power of sports and celebrities to challenge men to raise awareness that one in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime and empower men and their loved ones with the resources they need to take charge of their health at all stages of the journey from understanding the risk factors to diagnosis and treatment.
