Growing up can be difficult - growing up a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender (GLBT) youth can be overwhelming. It is important that those of us who have been there support this generation as we want them to grow into healthy adults with strong self-images.

Your gifts help Kaleidoscope Youth Center create and manage empowering programs by and for GLBT youth five days a week. Support from individual donors is critical. We count on donations from individuals for almost 70% of our annual budget.

Your $25 Donation:
-Underwrites safe and drug free recreational activities
-Provides after-school snacks for the youth at the Center
-Enables us to present GLBT information to teachers and therapists who work with youth

Your $50 Donation:
-Purchases art supplies that enable the youth to express themselves in safe ways
-Supports our telephone support line for youth and families who have questions
-Makes it possible for us to provide health and life skill programs

Your $75 Donation:
-Procures office supplies to maintain communication with youth service providers
-Provides continued access to the internet for youth projects
-Invests in welcome packets for youth who are new to the Center and the community

Your $100 Donation:
-Contributes to the basic functioning of the Center, like heat and electric
-Allows expanded access to character development experiences
-Prints outreach newsletters and informational brochures

Your $250 Donation:
-Helps us to keep the doors open to provide a safe space for youth to grow and be supported
-Assists in financing team-building and other out-of-center activities in the greater community
-Facilitates our ability to help the youth in forming positive self-concepts through adult mentoring

Designate Kaleidoscope Youth Center in your workplace giving campaign!
You may designate Kaleidoscope Youth Center to receive your donation through any private, local, state or federal employee giving campaign. Make a monthly donation!
Spread out your gift by pledging a monthly donation to Kaleidoscope Youth Center. Monthly donations may be given via credit card or electronic bank withdrawal. We utilize the PayPal System for easy access.

Donate appreciated assets!
Gifts of appreciated securities that have been held for more than 18 months may be deducted at full market value on the date of transfer to Kaleidoscope Youth Center. When you give Kaleidoscope Youth Center a gift of stock that has increased in value you:

-claim a charitable gift deduction on your current year taxes
-don't pay capital gains taxes you would owe if you sold the stock yourself
-don't pay broker fees on the sale

To receive the full tax benefit, it is important to donate your appreciated stock directly to Kaleidoscope Youth Center and have us, a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt organization, sell it.

Here's an example:
Five years ago you purchased 175 shares of “GayStuff” at $15 per share. If you were to sell that stock today for $60 per share, you would pay a 20% capital gains tax on $7,875, the dollar difference between the value of the stock when you bought it and when you sold it.
If you sell the stock yourself and donate the proceeds to Kaleidoscope Youth Center:
$10,500 value of 175 shares of “GayStuff” at $60 per share
$(1,575) minus 20% capital gains taxes on the increased value of the stock
$8,925 your tax deductible charitable contribution
This is the amount of your donation that you can claim as your deduction, and the amount that you would give to Kaleidoscope Youth Center.
If you donate the stock to Kaleidoscope Youth Center:
$10,500 value of 175 shares of “GayStuff” at $60 per share
$0 capital gains tax
$10,500 your income tax deduction
This is the amount going to Kaleidoscope Youth Center and the amount you can claim as your deduction.
